6.1 Software Maintenance
The software maintenance of router includes software upgrade and file uploading/
downloading.
The manageable files of the router include:
z BOOTROM program file
z Main program file
z Configuration file
This chapter will introduce file uploading and downloading via FTP. The following two
methods are for software upgrade:
z Software upgrade via XModem
z
Software upgrade via TFTP
Note:
To upgrade the main program via TFTP and FTP, you need to use the Ethernet interface. Refer to Chapter
8 Function Modules for how to connect the Ethernet cables.
6.1.1 BOOT Menu
BOOT menu will be used during the maintenance of the router software.
Attach a terminal (or a PC. For PC, it is necessary to run a terminal emulation program)
to the console of the router. After the router is powered on, the following information will

Different versions of BOOTROM may have slightly different interfaces at the terminal.
