8.14.6 Connecting Interface Cable
Step 1: Plug the DB-15 end of the cable into the DB-15 connector of the E1VI module.
Step 2: Please connect the other end of the conversion cable of the E1VI module to the
E1 trunk interface.
Step 3: Power on the router and check the status of READY indicator on the
corresponding slots on the front panel of the router. If the indicator is On, it means
module has passed self-test and can start normal work. If the indicator is Off, it means
module has failed self-test. In this case, please contact the local agent of Huawei.
Step 4: Power on the router and check the status of LINK indicator of E1VI. It is Off
when fault has occurred to the line and signal is out of synchronization. In this case,
please check the line.
Caution:
When connecting the cables, observe the identifiers on the interfaces to avoid wrong connection and
damage to the module and the router.
