Before connecting to the sync/async serial interface, confirm the line properties. There
are four optional cables depending on different line properties.
z V.35 DCE cable
z V.35 DTE cable
z V.24 DCE cable
z V.24 DTE cable
One end of the cables is connected to the router side via the DB-50 connector, and the
connection of the other end of the cables is varied with the network side to which it is
connected. For the different corresponding relationships between pins, please refer to
the related part in section 8.6.5.
Caution:
The above cables are not provided together with the 2S1B module and shall be prepared by the user.
The cable for connecting the ISDN BRI S/T interface is a standard S/T interface cable.
Its pin 3 and 6 are TX ends, and pin 4 and 5 are RX ends. Both ends are RJ-45
connectors.
Caution:
If the ISDN BRI S/T interface cable of 2S1B module is led out to the outdoor, a special lightning arrester
should be installed at the input end of the signal line to obtain better lightning protection effect.
8.10.6 Connecting Interface Cable
I. Connecting the cable of sync/async serial interface
Step 1: Please plug the DB-50 end of the sync/async serial interface cable of 2S1B to
the DB-50 interface of 2S1B, and screw up the knob.
Step 2: Please connect the other end of the cable to the following device:
z If the WAN is a DDN line, connect the cable to the interface of CSU/DSU (data
conversion equipment).
z
If the WAN is a dialup line, connect the cable to the serial interface of the analog
Modem.
Step 3: Power on the system and check the status of READY indicator on the front
panel of the router. It is on when the module has completed self-check and works
