normally. It is off when the module fails to pass the self-check. In this case, please
contact the local agent of Huawei.
II. Connecting the cable of BRI interface
Step 1: Please confirm the ISDN line type provided by the telecom carrier.
Step 2: Connect the cable.
z
If the line is an ISDN U interface line, please adapt it with NT1 by plugging one end
of the S/T interface cable to the S/T interface of NT1, and the other to the BRI
interface of 2S1B.
z If the line is an ISDN BRI S/T interface line, directly connect the cable to the BRI
interface of 2S1B.
Step 3: Power on the router and check the status of READY indicator on the front panel
of the router. It is on when the BRI interface of the module has completed self-check,
and is working normally. It is off when the BRI interface of the module fails to pass
self-check. In this case, please contact the local agent of Huawei.
Caution:
When connecting the cables, observe the identifiers on the interfaces to avoid wrong connection and
damage to the module and the router.
8.11 2FXS/2FXO/2E&M Module
Caution:
2FXS/2FXO module is equipped with an interface cable which has a toroidal magnetic core at one end. To
ensure electromagnetic compatibility of the whole router, please connect the end with the toroidal
magnetic core to the router.
Because it’s hard to determine the type of the remote switch and its connectors, the interface cable of
2E&M module has to be prepared according to the on-site conditions, or the problem could be solved by
the user. To ensure the electromagnetic compatibility of the whole router, please install a toroidal magnetic
core near the connector of the prepared 2E&M module interface cable by the router side.
If the interface cable of 2FXS/2FXO/2E&M module is led out to the outdoor, a special lightning arrester
should be installed at the input end of the signal line to obtain better lightning protection effect.
