Absolute Reset for Synchro Specification
The controller ordered as a synchro type will be shipped with the applicable parameters set for the
synchro specification.
If an absolute reset is performed, some parameters must be changed.
The following explanation assumes operation using the PC software. Read the operation manual for your
PC software before performing an absolute reset.
1. Synchro Axes
A pair of synchro axes consists of the master axis and the slave axis, with the axis of the smaller axis
number designated as the master axis.
Commands in the program are valid only for the master axis. (Issuance of commands for the slave axis is
prohibited.)
An absolute reset can be performed using either the standard procedure or special procedure. Which
procedure should be used is determined by the value of “Axis-specific parameter No. 38, Encoder
ABC/INC type.”
Value of “Axis-specific parameter No. 38, Encoder ABS/INC type”

(If “0” is set for both the master axis and slave axis, it means that both axes are of incremental

Example 2) Perform an absolute reset of a 2-axis controller using the standard procedure
