7. After adding a desired image, select the check box next to the drive that you want to map
and click Mount Selected in Figure 6-5.

8. The image drive is now accessible by the system.
6.1.2 Local USB port
You can use the local USB port to attach a USB flash drive that contains the OS installation
files. There are several methods to create a bootable flash drive. The following web pages

You can also use the ServerGuide Scripting Toolkit to create a bootable USB flash drive, as
explained in the next section.
6.1.3 Preboot eXecution Environment (PXE)
The Preboot eXecution Environment (PXE) is an environment to boot computers using a
network interface for operating system deployment. All X6 systems support PXE.
For example, you can use xCAT software to deploy a broad set of operating systems by
