To search for a repeater’s sub-audible tone frequency,
a tone scan is available.
By monitoring a repeater signal with a tone squelch or
DTCS, you can determine the tone frequency neces-
sary to open the repeater or the squelch.

ush [MENU] to display the “M1”
screen (Menu 1).
w Hold down [TON](F-4) for 1 second to enter the
“TON” screen.
e Push [TON](F-1) one or more times to select the
tone type to be scanned.
