26. Problems, possible causes, test methods and remedies
Air motor does not rotate
• Compressed air line interrupted
Connect the test case to the rear
distributor and pressurise the milling air
line. Detect the leaking area.
Open the respective area and replace
the defective air duct.

• Air motor worn out
• Air motor fixed in air motor housing
• Incorrect assembly
• Rotor with burr due to cutter
exchange
(pen extinguisher)
• Lamellae missing
Dismantle the air motor and visually
check the wearing parts.
Assessment of corrosion and
contamination.
Degree at hole for cylindrical pin on
rotor
Clean all parts that are still to be used,
make them corrosion-free and replace
wearing parts.

Grind degree on rotor
• Slats worn out
• Ball bearings run with difficulty
• Air motor heavily soiled
Dismantle the air motor and visually
check the wearing parts.
Assessment of corrosion and
contamination.
Assess the condition of the air motor
housing.
Clean all parts that are still to be used,
make them corrosion-free and replace
wearing parts.
