7. Mounting the front radial air bag
1. Cutting a new radial air bag
1. Thoroughly clean/ remove grease from the
crimping surfaces for assembly.
2. Clean / remove grease from the inner side of
the reused radial air bag
as well.
3. Apply
"Lubricant for plug-in systems"
on the crimping surfaces and inside the radial
air bag (makes assembly easier)
1. Slide the crimp ferrule onto the housing
"Rear rotary unit".
2. Insert the radial air bag into the crimp ferrule
as far as it goes
3. Mark radial air bag along the crimp ferrule
Caution
Distance between the housings minus 9 mm is the
cutting dimension of the radial air bag.
From 01 September 2021, the cutting dimension for
new designs is 312 mm
Caution
Oils and/or greases are not permitted to
improve the sliding property!
