Results of Improper Adjustment
1. How to check the amount of rise of the second thread tension disc
(1) Set the thread take-up lever slightly in front of the upper
dead point.
(2) Raise the presser.
(3) The standard amount of the rise of the second thread ten-
sion disc ❹ is 0.5 to 1mm when the picker ❶ is pushed
toward the bobbin case side.
2. How to adjust the amount of rise of the second thread tension disc
<When increasing the amount of rise>
Loosen the thread tension release wire xing screw ❷ and move
the thread tension release wire ❸ to the right.
<When decreasing the amount of rise>
Loosen the thread tension release wire xing screw ❷ and move
the thread tension release wire ❸ to the left.
(Caution) After adjustments, tighten the thread tension release
wire xing screw ❷ assuredly.
◦ If the amount of rise of the second
thread tension disc ❹ is too small,
the needle thread length becomes
short at the time of thread trimming
and this can be a cause of thread
entanglement and needle thread
castoff errors at the beginning of
sewing.
