ForthefunctionSTOtheaxismoduleisequippedwithadditionallogiccir
cuits.Thelogicinterruptsthesupplyvoltageforthepulseamplifierforthe
operationofthepowerstage.Bymeansoftwoinputsthemotorisprevented
fromgeneratingtorqueusingatwochannelprocess.

● Inthestate"STO"motorandmainscable,brakingresistorandDClink
supplycablewillcarrydangerousvoltagesinrelationtothePEconduc
tor.
● Withoutadditionalmeasuresitisnotpossibletoimplement"shutdownof
thepowersupplyinanemergency"usingthefunction"STO".Thereis
nogalvanicisolationbetweenmotoranddrivecontroller!Assuchthere
isariskduetoelectricshockandotherrisksofanelectricalorigin

● Iftheactionofexternalforcehastobeexpectedwiththesafetyfunction
"STO",e.g.duetoasuspendedload,thismovementmustbesafelypre
ventedbyadditionalmeasures,e.g.bymeansoftwobrakes,lockingde
viceorclampingdevicewithbrake.
● Despitecorrectshutdown,inthecaseofashortcircuitintwooffset
branchesofthepowersectionanaxismovementofmax.180°maybe
triggeredelectrically.
8.1.1 ConfigurationofSTOsafetyfunction
ViaDIPswitch(SADR)thedesiredbehaviourofthesafetyfunctionSTO
canbeconfigured.BecausetheD3DA3xx/xcanbeequippedassingle,
doubleortrippleaxismodule,itmustbeconfiguredviaDIPswitchonwhich
axistheSTOtakesaffect.
