Laser
The laser consists of a laser tube, RF power supply, DC power supply, control signal, and water-
cooling. The following are requirements needed for the laser to fire.
AC voltage for the DC power supply.
DC voltage for the RF power supply
Chilling unit powered on.
The shutter needs to be in the open position.
Air pressure to the nozzle via the automated air switch and regulator provided with the
system.
A five second delay reset. This is the key switch on the KLMC box.
Failure of any of these will affect the performance of the laser and cause it to not fire.
Laser Power Testing Procedure
A laser power meter is required for this procedure. Please call a Kern sales associate for information
on purchasing a laser power meter. These meters are great for troubleshooting and tracking the
power of your laser over its lifetime.
