9 Maintenance
9.1 Maintenance table
Preconditions The maintenance points must be freely accessible.
The carriage is secured against unintended motion.
Remove the tools and any additional items of equipment if they impede
maintenance work.
Description Lubrication is performed either at the specified maintenance intervals or every
5 years after commissioning by the customer. With maintenance intervals of
10,000 hours, for example, the first maintenance (oil change) is performed ei-
ther after 10,000 operating hours or 5 years after commissioning by the cus-
tomer, whichever is reached first.
The maintenance intervals given in the tables are valid for the operating con-
ditions specified in the technical data (>>> 4 "Technical data" page 17). In
case of variations from normal conditions (e.g. increased dust or water content
in the environment), KUKA must be consulted.

Warning!
If work is carried out immediately after the linear unit has stopped operating,
there is liable to be an elevated surface temperature at the motors. The ap-
propriate safety measures must be taken.

Only lubricants approved by KUKA Roboter GmbH may be used.
