Install wire tie behind self-propelled cable
and around cable anchor and gear select cable
as
shown.

Engage self-propelled bail. Observe
clutch arm movement. Clutch arm may have a
maximum
.040
clearance to stop on upper
transmission case.
NOTE: To
ensure
full
clutch engagement,
raise rear wheels and rotate wheels backward
until they
lock.
With clutch arm fully engaged observe self-
propelled cable spring. Coils should just be
seperating after clutch arm has made full travel.
If
coils are not just seperating adjust nuts at
cable anchor.
To
loosen spring move barrel
down; to tighten spring move barrel up.
Torque cable nuts to
75
in.-lbs.

Release self-propelled bail. Observe the follow-
ing; transmission rotation toward front of
mower, drive belt should be slack, clutch arm
disengaged and self-propelled cable should be
slack.

If
any of the steps did not occur or
if
excessive force
is
required to engage self-pro-
pelled bail, tighten or loosen the nuts securing
cable to cable anchor.
Reassemble upper and lower drive covers to
housing.
Reconnect
all
electrical connectors.
Reinstall rear access door to housing.
Toque mounting screw
to
30
In.-lbs.

Test and operate mower for proper function.
