Position piston onto crankshaft rod

sembly,
so
EX-H
on piston will
be
on exhaust
side of the cylinder,
90°
counterclockwise from
flywheel end.
Inside piston the word
'TOP"
is printed on wrist
pin boss. This must be toward flywheel end of
crankshaft assembly.
Using Lawn-Boy Wrist Pin Installer, Part
No.
684233,
push the wrist pin into the piston.
NOTE:
To
prevent damage to piston skirt or
connecting rod, do not apply heavy side loads
or drive wrist pin in using a hammer and punch.
Using Lawn-Boy Internal Snap Ring
Pliers, Part
No.
612533,
install the
snap
rings to
retain the wrist pin.
NOTE:
For best retention of snap rings; install
snap rings with sharp edge outward and open-
ing of ring facing the top or bottom ofpiston.

Spread ring end gap and slide ring

evenly onto piston.
NOTE:
To
prevent distortion and sticking in
piston ring grooves, do not install piston ring
one end at a time.
