Rotate actuator arm and check clutch
engagement. Clutch arm may have a maximum

clearance to stop on upper transmission
case.
NOTE: Axle may rotate up
to
180"
before
balls engage
shift
collar and axle holes with
slider.
Install linkage plate to transmission housing.
Torque metric cap screws to 170ln.-lbs.
Install clutch return spring in outer hole
of
clutch
arm
and hook other end in groove of linkage
plate.
Recheck for proper transmission operation.

INSTALLATION

Position transmission into housing.
Slide left and right height adjustor assemblies
onto
axle
shaft and into housing to retain trans-
mission.
Apply light coat of oil to height adjust plate
mounting screws and secure height adjust
plates to housing.
Torque plate mountlng screws to 155

Rotate transmission rearward and rein-
stall self-propelled cable spring
to
clutch arm.
Place speed selector lever (on handle console)
in number
2
position. Place transmission shift
arm
in number
2
position. Install gear selector
cable to shift arm. Tighten cable clamp screw.
Torque clamp
screw
to
25
In.-lbs.
NOTE: Support linkage plate arm with
a
bar
or screwdriver when tightening clamp screw
to
prevent distorting plate
arm.
Move speed selector lever (on handle console)
into position
1,
2
and
3
and observe shift arm
movement for
proper
gear selection engage-
ment. Refer to Section
9
for cable adjustment
if
required.
