engine, remove
spark
plug
lead wire and remove spark
plug.

Remove rear access door and disconnect
battery connector.
Remove solenoid from battery bracket.
Disconnect electronic cup assembly from
engine wiring harness.
Disconnect handle wiring harness from
engine wiring harness.
Disconnect chute interlock switch from en-
gine wiring harness.
Remove rear access door.
Disconnect chute interlock switch from engine
wiring harness.

Engage blade control bail on models
so
equipped,
and
pull starter rope at starter hous-
ing.
Tie a loop knot
in
rope near starter housing.
Remove rope insert from handle and untie knot.
Slide handle and rope insert
off
rope.
Remove upper drive cover.
Disconnect throttle cable from throttle
cable clamp on governor bracket.
Pry
wire end
straight out
of
retainer in speed control lever.
NOTE:
Exercise care when removing throttle
cable
wire end
from
retainer in speed control
lever.
Do
not bend throttle wire
or
speed
control
lever.
