Installinganewerversion
TolocateandinstallanewerversionofLenovoSystemsDirector,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.CheckforthelatestversionofLenovoSystemsDirector:
a.Gotohttp://www.ibm.com/systems/software/director/resources.html.
b.IfanewerversionofSystemsDirectorthanwhatcomeswiththeserverisshowninthe
drop-downlist,followtheinstructionsonthewebpagetodownloadthelatestversion.
Step2.InstalltheSystemsDirectorprogram.
InstallingupdateswithyourmanagementserverisconnectedtotheInternet
IfyourmanagementserverisconnectedtotheInternet,tolocateandinstallupdatesandinterimfixes,
completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.MakesurethatyouhaveruntheDiscoveryandInventorycollectiontasks.
Step2.OntheWelcomepageoftheSystemsDirectorwebinterface,clickViewupdates.
Step3.ClickCheckforupdates.Theavailableupdatesaredisplayedinatable.
Step4.Selecttheupdatesthatyouwanttoinstall,andclickInstalltostarttheinstallationwizard.
InstallingupdateswithyourmanagementserverisnotconnectedtotheInternet
IfyourmanagementserverisnotconnectedtotheInternet,tolocateandinstallupdatesandinterimfixes,
completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.MakesurethatyouhaveruntheDiscoveryandInventorycollectiontasks.
Step2.OnasystemthatisconnectedtotheInternet,gotohttp://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral.
Step3.FromtheProductfamilylist,selectIBMSystemsDirector.
Step4.FromtheProductlist,selectIBMSystemsDirector.
Step5.FromtheInstalledversionlist,selectthelatestversion,andclickContinue.
Step6.Downloadtheavailableupdates.
Step7.Copythedownloadedfilestothemanagementserver.
Step8.Onthemanagementserver,ontheWelcomepageoftheSystemsDirectorwebinterface,click
theManagetab,andclickUpdateManager.
Step9.ClickImportupdatesandspecifythelocationofthedownloadedfilesthatyoucopiedtothe
managementserver.
Step10.ReturntotheWelcomepageoftheWebinterface,andclickViewupdates.
Step11.Selecttheupdatesthatyouwanttoinstall,andclickInstalltostarttheinstallationwizard.
UpdatingtheUniversalUniqueIdentifier(UUID)
TheUniversalUniqueIdentifier(UUID)mustbeupdatedwhenthesystemboardisreplaced.Usethe
AdvancedSettingsUtilitytoupdatetheUUIDintheUEFI-basedserver.
TheASUisanonlinetoolthatsupportsseveraloperatingsystems.Makesurethatyoudownloadtheversion
foryouroperatingsystem.YoucandownloadtheASUfromtheLenovoWebsite.TodownloadtheASUand
updatetheUUID,completethefollowingsteps.
