Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toinstallaheatsinkretentionmodule,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Carefullyturntheserveronitssidesothatitislyingflat,withthecoverfacingup.
Attention:Donotallowtheservertofallover.
Step2.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage184).
Step3.Removetheairbaffle(see“Removingtheairbaffle”onpage189).
Step4.Aligntheretentionmodulewiththeholesonthesystemboard.
Step5.Useascrewdrivertoinstallthefourscrews.

Attention:Makesurethatyouinstalleachheatsinkwithitspairedmicroprocessor.
