UsethisinformationtoupdatetheDMI/SMBIOSdata.
TheDesktopManagementInterface(DMI)mustbeupdatedwhenthesystemboardisreplaced.Usethe
AdvancedSettingsUtilitytoupdatetheDMIintheUEFI-basedserver.TheASUisanonlinetoolthat
supportsseveraloperatingsystems.Makesurethatyoudownloadtheversionforyouroperatingsystem.
YoucandownloadtheASUfromtheLenovowebsite.TodownloadtheASUandupdatetheDMI,complete
thefollowingsteps.
Note:ChangesaremadeperiodicallytotheLenovowebsite.Theactualproceduremightvaryslightly

Step1.DownloadtheAdvancedSettingsUtility(ASU):
a.Gotohttp://www.lenovo.com/support.
b.ClicktheDownloadstabatthetopofthepanel.
c.UnderToolsCenter,selectViewToolsCenterdownloads.
d.SelectAdvancedSettingsUtility(ASU).
e.ScrolldownandclickonthelinkanddownloadtheASUversionforyouroperatingsystem.
Step2.ASUsetstheDMIintheIntegratedManagementModuleII(IMM2).Selectoneofthefollowing
methodstoaccesstheIntegratedManagementModuleII(IMM2)tosettheDMI:
•Onlinefromthetargetsystem(LANorkeyboardconsolestyle(KCS)access)
•Remoteaccesstothetargetsystem(LANbased)
•BootablemediacontainingASU(LANorKCS,dependinguponthebootablemedia)
Step3.CopyandunpacktheASUpackage,whichalsoincludesotherrequiredfiles,totheserver.Make
surethatyouunpacktheASUandtherequiredfilestothesamedirectory.Inadditiontothe
applicationexecutable(asuorasu64),thefollowingfilesarerequired:
•ForWindowsbasedoperatingsystems:
–ibm_rndis_server_os.inf
–device.cat
•ForLinuxbasedoperatingsystems:
–cdc_interface.sh
Step4.AfteryouinstallASU,TypethefollowingcommandstosettheDMI:
