thenstartsblinkingslowing(approximately
1Hz),thisindicatesthatIMM2isfully
operational.Youcannowpressthe
power-controlbuttontopower-onthe
server.
4.IfthisLEDdoesnotblinkwithin30seconds
ofconnectingapowersourcetotheserver,
(trainedtechnicianonly)replacethesystem
board.
Eventlogs
ErrorcodesandmessagesaredisplayedinPOSTeventlog,system-eventlog,IntegratedManagement
ModuleII(IMM2)eventlog,andDSAeventlog.
•POSTeventlog:Thislogcontainsthemostrecenterrorcodesandmessagesthatweregeneratedduring
POST.YoucanviewthecontentsofthePOSTeventlogfromtheSetuputility(see“StartingtheSetup
utility”onpage107).FormoreinformationaboutPOSTerrorcodes,seeAppendixB“UEFI(POST)error
codes”onpage965.
•System-eventlog:ThislogcontainsPOSTandsystemmanagementinterrupt(SMI)eventsandall
eventsthataregeneratedbythebaseboardmanagementcontrollerthatisembeddedintheIntegrated
ManagementModuleII(IMM2).Youcanviewthecontentsofthesystem-eventlogthroughtheSetup
utilityandthroughtheDynamicSystemAnalysis(DSA)program(asIPMIeventlog).Thesystem-event
logislimitedinsize.Whenitisfull,newentrieswillnotoverwriteexistingentries;therefore,youmust
periodicallyclearthesystem-eventlogthroughtheSetuputility.Whenyouaretroubleshootinganerror,
youmighthavetosaveandthenclearthesystem-eventlogtomakethemostrecenteventsavailablefor

Messagesarelistedontheleftsideofthescreen,anddetailsabouttheselectedmessagearedisplayed

SomeIMM2sensorscauseassertioneventstobeloggedwhentheirsetpointsarereached.When
asetpointconditionnolongerexists,acorrespondingdeassertioneventislogged.However,not
alleventsareassertion-typeevents.
