Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toremoveadualinlinememorymodule(DIMM),completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Carefullyturntheserveronitssidesothatitislyingflat,withthecoverfacingup.
Attention:Donotallowtheservertofallover.
Step2.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage184).
Step3.Removetheairbaffleifinstalled(see“Removingtheairbaffle”onpage189).
Step4.LocatetheDIMMconnectorsonthesystemboard(see“System-boardinternalconnectors”on
page27).
