Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toinstallanoptionalfull-heighttapedrive,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage184).
Step2.Openthebezel(see“Openingthebezelmediadoor”onpage181).
Step3.Removetheairbaffleifinstalled(see“Removingtheairbaffle”onpage189).
Step4.Removethefancageassembly(see“Removingthefancageassembly”onpage272).
Step5.RemovetheEMCshieldsfromthedrivebay,ifinstalled.
Step6.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthetapedrivetoanyunpaintedmetalsurface
ontheserver;then,removethetapedrivefromthepackage.
Step7.Installthebluerailsonthetapedrive.
Step8.Followtheinstructionsthatcomewiththedrivetosetjumpersorswitches,ifthereisany.
Note:Youmightfinditeasiertoinstallthenewdrivefromthefrontandthenattachthecables.
Step9.Aligntherailsonthetapedrivewiththeguidesinthedrivebay;then,slidethetapedriveintothe
drivebayuntiltherailsclickintoplace.
