activityLED,andwhenthisLEDisflashing,itindicatesthatthedriveisinuse.
•HarddiskdrivestatusLEDs:
ThisLEDisusedonhot-swapSASorSATAharddiskdrives.WhenthisLEDislit,itindicatesthatthe
drivehasfailed.IfanoptionalLenovoServeRAIDcontrollerisinstalledintheserver,whenthisLEDis
flashingslowly(oneflashpersecond),itindicatesthatthedriveisbeingrebuilt.WhentheLEDisflashing
rapidly(threeflashespersecond),itindicatesthatthecontrollerisidentifyingthedrive.
•DVDdriveactivityLED:
WhenthisLEDislit,itindicatesthattheDVDdriveisinuse.
•DVDejectbutton:
PressthisbuttontoreleaseaDVDorCDfromtheDVDdrive.
•Lightpathdiagnosticspanel:
LightpathdiagnosticsisasystemofLEDsonvariousexternalandinternalcomponentsoftheserver.
Whenanerroroccurs,LEDsarelitthroughouttheserver.ByviewingtheLEDsinaparticularorder,
youcanoftenidentifythesourceoftheerror.See“Lightpathdiagnosticspanel”onpage20formore
informationaboutthelightpathdiagnostics.
•Operatorinformationpanel:
ThispanelcontainscontrolsandLEDsthatprovideinformationaboutthestatusoftheserver.For
informationaboutthecontrolsandLEDsontheoperatorinformationpanel,see“Operatorinformation
panel”onpage18
.
•Remindbutton:
Thisbuttonplacesthesystem-errorLED/checklogLEDontheoperatorinformationpanelintoRemind
mode.InRemindmode,thesystem-errorLEDflashesonceevery2secondsuntiltheproblemis
corrected,theserverisrestarted,oranewproblemoccurs.
Byplacingthesystem-errorLEDindicatorinRemindmode,youacknowledgethatyouareawareofthe
lastfailurebutwillnottakeimmediateactiontocorrecttheproblem.Theremindfunctioniscontrolledby
theIMM2.
•Resetbutton:
Pressthisbuttontoresettheserverandrunthepower-onself-test(POST).Youmighthavetousea
penortheendofastraightenedpapercliptopressthebutton.TheResetbuttonisinthelower-right
cornerofthelightpathdiagnosticspanel.
•USBconnectors:
ConnectaUSBdevice,suchasaUSBmouseorkeyboardtoanyoftheseconnectors.
