INTRUSION-MINIMIZING BRAKE PEDAL OPERATION
E5U041143300N02
In a frontal collision, the brake pedal is forced rearward by the movement of the engine and other parts.
Brackets A and B break away from bracket C, which is fixed to the body.
Bracket B is freed allowing it and the pedal arm to rotate together at pivot fulcrum D of bracket A, thereby
preventing the rearward movement of the brake pedal.

MASTER CYLINDER CONSTRUCTION
E5U041143400N01
A plunger-type master cylinder with a 22.2 mm
{0.87 in} bore has been adopted, improving
durability.
Note
Plunger type: A system where the cups are
fixed on the cylinder, and the piston slides
through the inner perimeter of the cups.
For vehicles with DSC, the master cylinder outlet
pipe diameter has been increased, improving
response during DSC operation.
Except for the reservoir, the master cylinder
cannot be disassembled. Therefore, if there is any
malfunction in the interior of the master cylinder, replace the cylinder component without disassembling.
