(4). Structural Modifications:
(a). (Ref. Figure 902) Cut hole in instru
ment panel to accommodate attitude
gyro indicator. Into top right side of
instrument panel face, drill a 3.125
inch (7.9375 cm) diameter hole as
shown. Enlarge hole to 3.17 inch
(8.0518 cm) using half round file.
(b). Cut a notch in lower right quadrant
of hole to accommodate shaft of
indicator horizon adjustment knob.
Drill a 23/64 inch (9.128125 mm)
hole in location shown. Enlarge hole
to 0.374 inch (9.4996 mm) using
round file and notch.
(c). Using measurements shown, drill
holes in instrument panel to accom
modate indicator attaching screws.
(d). To accommodate support assembly
(Ref. Figure 901), inscribe a drill hole
pattern on top and rear flange of
instrument panel (Ref. Figure 902).
Drill and deburr.
(5). Support Assembly Installation
:
(a). (Ref. Figure 901) Attach support
assembly, support, two brackets, and
clip to instrument panel with pro
vided rivets.
(b). Ensure that pad is firmly attached to
underside of support.
(c). Attach clamp to underside of support,
with provided screws.
(6). Noise Filter FL100 Installation
:
(a). (Ref. Figure 202) Locate center
console panel assembly beneath
switch panel assembly, and install
noise filter there.
(b). To the filter, connect dash five (-5)
wiring harness as shown in wiring
diagram.
(c). Tie dash five (-5) wiring harness to
existing ship's wiring with tie straps
(CM704).
(7). S501 Switch Installation
:
(a). Remove protective cover button from
face of switch panel at ATT GYRO/
OFF position. Install toggle switch
S502.
(b). On underside of switch panel, wire
switch S502 as shown in wiring
diagram.
(8). Circuit Breaker CB105 Installation
:
(a). Remove protective cover button from
face of circuit breaker panel at
GYROS ATT position. Install circuit
breaker.
(b). On underside of circuit breaker
panel, wire circuit breaker CB105 as
shown in wiring diagram. Connect a
jumper wire from terminal 1 of
CB124 to terminal 1 of CB110.
(9). Attitude Gyro Indicator Installation
:
(a). Loosen two screws holding clamp to
support of indicator support assembly
on rear of instrument panel. On front
of instrument panel, insert attitude
gyro indicator into newly formed
hole. Secure indicator to instrument
panel with provided screws. Secure
indicator to support by tightening
clamp with clamp screws.
(b). Wire indicator and lamp as shown in
wiring diagram.
(c). Ensure that all wires from noise
filter, switch panel, circuit breaker
panel, and the attitude gyro indicator
are properly routed, tied, and termi
nated.
(d). Perform operational check of com
pleted installation (Ref. Attitude
Gyro Indicator Operational Check).
