Installing the filter screw
■ Screw the filter screw (25-3) back into the tubing olive (25-1) and
start by tightening it by hand. Tighten using the two adjustable
wrenches.
6.13 Maintenance on the Metrohm CO
2
Suppressor (MCS)
6.13.1 Replacing the CO
2
adsorption cartridge CW
Capacity loss
The adsorption capacity of the CO
2
adsorption cartridge CW is limited and
decreases over time. This is indicated by an increasing baseline (since more
CO
2
gets to the detector). The CO
2
adsorption cartridge CW has to be
replaced once the adsorption capacity is depleted. CO
2
adsorption car-
tridges CW are available under the order number 6.2837.100.
Maintenance interval
The CO
2
adsorption cartridge CW (6.2837.100) loses capacity over time.
Replace the CO
2
adsorber cartridge CW every year.
Removing the depleted CO
2
adsorption cartridge CW
1
Remove the depleted CO
2
adsorber cartridge CW from the detector
chamber.
2
Remove the Air in capillary of the Metrohm CO
2
Suppressor (MCS).
3
Professionally dispose of the depleted CO
2
adsorption cartridge CW.
Installing the new CO
2
adsorption cartridge CW
1
Preparing the new CO
2
adsorption cartridge CW (see "Preparing the
CO2 adsorber cartridge CW", page 45).
2
Install the new CO
2
adsorber cartridge CW (see "Installing the CO2
adsorption cartridge CW", page 46).
