relevantlaworstandard.Childrenboostcushioncan
boostchildrentotheheightwheretheshoulderbeltcross
justthemiddleoftheshoulderandlowerthelapbeltto
hips.
SeatBeltPre-tensioners
Theseatbeltpre-tensionerswillonly
beactivatedonceandthenMUST
BEREPLACED.Failuretoreplacethe
pre-tensionerswillreducetheefciencyof
thevehicle'srestraintsystem.
Ifthepre-tensionershavebeenactivated,
theseatbeltswillstillfunctionasrestraints,
andmustbewornintheeventthatthe
vehicleremainsinadrivablecondition.The
seatbeltpre-tensionersshouldbereplaced
attheearliestopportunitybyanMG
AuthorisedRepairer.
Thevehicleisttedwithseatbeltpre-tensionersbeside
someseatbeltretractors.Whenmediumorseverefrontal
collisionoccursandmeetstheconditiontoactivatethe
pre-tensioner,itwillhelptosecuretheseatbelttoreduce
theforwardmotionoftheoccupantbody.
Theairbagwarninglampontheinstrumentpackwill
alertthedrivertoanymalfunctionoftheseatbelt
pre-tensioners(see'WarningLampsandIndicators'inthe
'InstrumentsandControls'chapter).
Theseatbeltpre-tensionerscanonlybeactivatedonce.
Afteractivationinacollision,theymustbereplaced.This
mayalsoinvolvereplacementofotherSRScomponents.
