SpecialOperatingConditions
Ifyourvehicleisfrequentlyusedindustyconditions,or
operatedinextremeclimateswheresub-zeroorveryhigh
ambienttemperaturesarenormal,morefrequentattention
mayneedtobepaidtomaintenancerequirements.Y ou
needtocarryoutspecialmaintenanceoperations(refer
toWarrantyandMaintenanceHandbookorcontactyour
localAuthorisedRepairer).
SafetyintheGarage
Coolingfansmaycommenceoperating
aftertheengineisswitchedoff,and
continueoperatingforanumberof
minutes.Keepclearofallfanswhile
workingintheenginecompartment.
Ifyouneedtocarryoutmaintenance,observethe
followingsafetyprecautionsatalltimes:
Keepyourhandsandclothingawayfromdrivebeltsand
pulleys.
Ifthecarhasbeendrivenrecently,DONOTTOUCH
exhaustandcoolingsystemcomponentsuntiltheengine
hascooled.
DONOTTOUCHelectricalleadsorcomponents
whiletheengineisrunning,orwiththeStartswitchon.
NEVERleavetheenginerunninginanunventilatedarea
-exhaustgasesarepoisonousandharmfultoheath.
DONOTworkunderneaththevehiclewithajackas
themeansofsupport.
Ensurethatsparksandnakedlightsarefarawayfrom
theenginecompartment.
Wearprotectiveclothingandworkgloves.
Removewatchesandjewelrybeforeworkinginthe
enginecompartment.
DONOTallowtoolsormetalpartsofthevehicleto
makecontactwiththebatteryleadsorterminals.
T oxicFluids
Fluidsusedinthevehiclearepoisonousandshallnotbe
swallowedorbroughtintocontactwithopenwounds.
Theseinclude:batteryacid,coolant,brakeandpower
steeringuid,fuel,engineoilandwindscreenwasheruid.
Foryourownsafety,AL WAYSreadandobeyall
instructionsonlabelsandcontainers.
