ambienttemperaturesarenormal,morefrequentattention
mayneedtobepaidtomaintenancerequirements.Y ou
needtocarryoutspecialmaintenanceoperations(refer
toWarrantyandMaintenanceHandbookorcontactyour
localAuthorisedRepairer).
SafetyintheGarage
Coolingfansmaycommenceoperating
aftertheengineisswitchedoff,and
continueoperatingforanumberof
minutes.Keepclearofallfanswhile
workingintheenginecompartment.
Ifyouneedtocarryoutmaintenance,observethe
followingsafetyprecautionsatalltimes:
•Keepyourhandsandclothingawayfromdrivebeltsand
pulleys.
•Ifthecarhasbeendrivenrecently,DONOTTOUCH
exhaustandcoolingsystemcomponentsuntiltheengine
hascooled.
•DONOTTOUCHelectricalleadsorcomponents
whiletheengineisrunning,orwiththeStartswitchon.
•NEVERleavetheenginerunninginanunventilatedarea
-exhaustgasesarepoisonousandharmfultoheath.
•DONOTworkunderneaththevehiclewithajackas
themeansofsupport.
•Ensurethatsparksandnakedlightsarefarawayfrom
theenginecompartment.
•Wearprotectiveclothingandworkgloves.
•Removewatchesandjewelrybeforeworkinginthe
enginecompartment.
•DONOTallowtoolsormetalpartsofthevehicleto
makecontactwiththebatteryleadsorterminals.
T oxicFluids
Fluidsusedinthevehiclearepoisonousandshallnotbe
swallowedorbroughtintocontactwithopenwounds.
Theseinclude:batteryacid,coolant,brakeandpower
steeringuid,fuel,engineoilandwindscreenwasheruid.
