seatcoverswhichmayaffectsideairbag
deployment.
Intheeventofaserioussideimpact,thefrontsideairbag
ontheimpactedsidewilldeployquicklyfromtheouterseat
backrestcover ,thesidecurtainairbagwilldeployquickly
fromtheroofinteriortrim,andthecentreairbagwill
deployquicklyfromtheinnerbackrestcoverofthedriver
seat.Theothersidewillnotdeploy.Conditionsdescribed
beloworsimilaronesmaycausesideairbag,centreairbag
andsidecurtainairbagdeployment.
•Onesideofthevehiclecollideswithhigh-speed
ordinarypassengercar.
ConditionsinWhichAirbagsWillNot
Deploy
Thedeploymentofairbagsdoesnotdependonthevehicle
speed,butontheobjectthatthevehiclehits,angleof
impactandtherateatwhichthecarchangesspeedasa
resultofacollision.Whentheimpactforceofcollision
isabsorbedordispersedtovehiclebody,airbagsmaynot
deploy;however ,airbagsmaysometimesdeployaccording
toimpactcondition.Therefore,thedeploymentofairbags
shallnotbejudgedbasedontheseverityofvehicledamage.
FrontalAirbags
Underconditionsdescribedbeloworsimilarones,the
frontalairbagsmaynotbedeployed:
•Theimpactpointisnotcentraltothefrontofthe
vehicle.
•Frontalcollisionwithasolidutilitypoleortrafcsign
post.
•Collisionwiththebottompartofthetruck'stail;cut-in
collisionwithtrucksorvehicleswithahigherchassis.
•Frontalcollisionatananglewithguardbars.
•Impactstotherearorsideofthevehicle.
