Thetemperaturesofexhaustsystemsthat
containparticulateltersandcatalytic
converterscanbeextremelyhigh,DO
NOTparkongroundwherecombustible
materialssuchasdrygrassorleavescould
comeintocontactwiththeexhaustsystem
-indryweatherarecouldresult.
Theexhaustsystemincorporatescatalyticconverters,
whichconvertpoisonousexhaustemissionsfromthe
engineintoenvironmentallylessharmfulgases.
Improperusemayleadtodamagetothecatalytic
converter,sopleasepayspecialattentiontothefollowing
requirementstominimisethepossibilityofdamage:
Fuel
•UseONL Yfuelrecommendedforyourcar .
•Neverallowthecartorunoutoffuel–thiscould
causeenginemisreandseriousdamagetothecatalytic
converter.
EngineOil
•UseONLYengineoilrecommendedforyourvehicle.If
anon-recommendedoilisused,thecatalyticconverter
maybedamaged.
Note:Carryoutscheduledservicingaccording
tothemaintenancescheduleinthe"Warranty&
MaintenanceHandbook".
Starting
Payattentiontothefollowingswhenstartingtheengine:
•Donotcontinuetooperatethestarterafterafewfailed
attempts;seekanAuthorisedRepairer.
•Donotstarttheenginebydepressingtheaccelerator
pedalrepeatedlyafterthefailedattempt.
•Donotattempttostartthevehiclebypushingor
towing.
Driving
Payattentiontothefollowingswhendrivingthevehicle:
•Donotoverloadorexcessivelyrevolvetheengine.
•Donotstoptheenginewhenthecarisinmotionwith
agearselected.
•SeekanAuthorisedRepairerifyouthinkyourcar’s
engineoilconsumptionisabnormal,ortheengine
performancewillbereduced.
