9.3.2 Cleaning the Equipment
• Only use the following approved cleaning solutions. The system may become
inoperable or halted because of contamination or damage caused by use of
unapproved cleaning solution.
Clean your equipment on a regular basis. Before cleaning the equipment, consult your
hospital’s regulations for cleaning the equipment.
Before cleaning the equipment, do the following preparations:
■ Install the battery pack or battery tray to firmly close the battery compartment.
■ Insert the NIBP hose into the NIBP cuff connector.
• Never allow the cleaning solutions to spill or enter the connector and battery
compartment.
To clean the equipment, follow this procedure:
1. Shut down the device.
2. Clean the display screen with wipes or a soft cloth moistened with one of the
cleaning agents listed in "Approved Cleaning and Disinfecting Agents" on
page 9-3 only.
3. Clean the exterior surface of the BP10 main unit and lithium-ion battery pack with
wipes or a soft cloth moistened with one of the cleaning agents listed in
"Approved Cleaning and Disinfecting Agents" on page 9-3 only.
4. Wipe off all the cleaning agent residue with a dry cloth.
5. Dry the equipment in a ventilated, cool place.
• Never immerse the lithium-ion battery pack, AA battery tray and AA
batteries. Do not clean them with harsh chemicals such as acetone or
nondiluted bleach.
9.3.3 Disinfecting the Equipment
Disinfect the equipment as required in your hospital’s servicing schedule using the
disinfecting agents list in "Approved Cleaning and Disinfecting Agents" on page 9-3.
Cleaning before disinfection is recommended.
