5.2 System Cleaning
5.2.1 Cleaning the Probe
1. Wear gloves to prevent contamination.
2. Turn off the probe. If the probe is covered by a protective sleeve, remove and discard the
protective sleeve.
3. Use a disposable clean soft cloth or paper towel to wipe off the ultrasonic gel or other visible
dirt on the surface of the probe.
4. Choose appropriate cleaners, including spray, disinfectant wipes, neutral detergent, enzymatic
cleaner, and special enzymatic sponge.
5. Immerse the probe completely in water for at least 1 minute. Use a clean soft cloth or soft
sponge to wipe the probe gently, until no dirt are seen on its surface. Do not use a brush, as it
may damage the probe.
