Using the PL Defeat Feature
This feature allows you to override any coded squelch (DPL or
PL) that might be preprogrammed to a channel.
Procedure:
Place the preprogrammed PL Defeat switch in the PL Defeat
position. You hear any activity on the channel.
OR
The radio is muted if no activity is present.
Note: When this feature is active, the Carrier Squelch status
indicator is displayed.
Using the Smart PTT Feature (Conventional Only)
Smart PTT is a per-channel, programmable feature used in
conventional radio systems to keep radio users from talking
over other radio conversations.
When smart PTT is enabled in your radio, you cannot transmit
on an active channel.
If you try to transmit on an active smart-PTT channel, you hear
an alert tone, and the transmission is inhibited. The LED blinks
red to indicate that the channel is busy.
Normal Squelch
You hear any digital traffic having
the correct network access code.
Selective Switch
You hear any digital traffic having
the correct network access code
and correct talkgroup.
