Chapter 11 Software Configuration
Introduction
This chapter provides instructions required for upgrading the VC70 software. This chapter also provide information
on registry settings commonly used in the VC70.
VC70 Operating System - Image Upgrade
Updating the Image
Monitor Mode
A Monitor Mode (also called Boot Loader) is used to update the image into memory and then jump to the OS
startup routine. Monitor Mode quickly download the new image to the VC70. The Monitor Mode software resides in
nonvolatile storage on the VC70 and executes when the system powers up or resets.
To Update the Image
On the PC side, perform the following steps:
1. Copy and unzip the BSP package file to your PC (extracted content: MLO and monitor.nb0 files and VC70N0
folder with all its files).
2. Copy the extracted content of the BSP package file to the root directory of the microSD card.
On the VC70 side, perform the following steps:
1. Connect the VC70 to external power.
2. Remove the VC70 Service Door using T8 TORX head screwdriver.
3. Insert the microSD Card into microSD Card Slot of the VC70.
NOTE Use Micro SD Card (Preferred SDHC Class 10), with up to 32GB free space.
