Nut and

Stud

c. Wrap

the

band

around

the

pulley

and

install

the

hex

screw

and

clip,

mounting

band

to

pulley,

but

do

not

tighten.

I NOTE

The

stepper

band

is

installed

so

that

the

band

spring

is

toward

the

front

of

the

drive

(refer

to

figure

4-9).

Install

the

stud

and

nut,

mounting

the

non-spring

side

of

the

band

to

the

head/carriage

assembly.

E.

Hold band

firmly

against

head/carriage

assembly;

install

hex

screw

to

spring

side

of

band.

F.

Pull

band

tight

against

head/carriage

assembly

and

tighten

screw.

Move

carriage

forward

and

backward;

ensure

that

there

is

no

band

crinkle

(metal

on

metal

rubbing).

G.

Hex

screws

(band/pulley

and

band/carriage)

should

be

torqued

to

3

in.

lbs.

and

stud/nut

torqued

to

2.25

in.

lbs.
