4.6 Stopping the engine at the LOP
Preconditions
☑ Engine is running in local mode
NOTICE
Stopping the engine when it is running at full load subjects it to extreme thermal and mechanical stress-
es.
Overheating of and, therefore, damage to components is possible!
• Before shutting down the engine, allow it to idle until the engine temperatures decrease and constant
levels are indicated.
Stopping the engine at the LOP
Item Measure
LOP Run engine at idle speed (→ Page 110).
Temperature readings Wait until engine is at operating temperature.
LOP Press STOP illuminated pushbutton (→ Page 110).
• The STOP illuminated pushbutton lights up,
• engine is stopped.
