the computer. If the scanner is not found, it can be added to the
scanner list by clicking Add, naming the scanner, and entering its
IP address in the Host Name field.
You should be able to communicate normally with the Odyssey
instrument. If you want, you can test this by choosing Settings >
System Administration and logging in using an account with Admin-
istrator access rights. If you can log in, you are successfully
connected.
If you are using automatic (DHCP) addressing for the Odyssey
Imager, connecting additional computers is somewhat different than
if you are using a static IP address. It is possible that you may not have
to do anything but install the Odyssey software. If you are on the
same network as the Odyssey Imager, the Odyssey software will find
the scanner when the software starts and it will be added to the
scanner list.
If the computer and the Odyssey
®
Imager are on separate networks
that are connected by a router, the Odyssey Imager will not be found
automatically by the Odyssey Software. You will have to add the
scanner using the Scanner settings as described above. Before you
can do that, however, you need to determine the IP address of the
Odyssey Imager by pressing Next on the Odyssey keypad to display
the current IP address.
