  If you're experiencing insufficient probe contact with your Olympus Scanner, it might be due to an improperly set probe holder. With the scanner removed from the pipe, try gently forcing the probe holder inward by hand to increase the preload of the wedge on the inspection surface. When reinstalling the scanner onto the pipe, make sure that the probe holder is not opened more than necessary.

  To resolve the issue of the Olympus Scanner not positively clipping onto the pipe, start by checking the setup chart to ensure you're using the correct number of links for your pipe's outside diameter. If the number of links is correct, verify that the tail setting matches the recommended setting for your pipe's diameter, as indicated in the setup chart. Also, ensure that the tail is adjusted inward to provide sufficient spring preload on the pipe surface. If the issue persists, repeat the scanner configuration procedure, as the pivot screws might not be tight enough, causing the scanner to spread apart upon installation.
