Chapter 6 Reprocessing, Storage, and Disposal

6.13 Reprocessing Insufflation Tube (MAJ-590) and
Suction Tube (MAJ-591)
Preparing the equipment for reprocessing
Equipment needed
The following equipment is prepared to perform the reprocessing steps
described in this chapter.
Be careful not to let the dirt on the tube stick. When
immersing the tube, the temperature of the liquid should not
exceed 50 degrees. Also, do not soak in saline.
The basins of the cleaning fluid for use in immersion should
be deep enough to immerse the Insufflation Tube (MAJ-590)
or Suction Tube (MAJ-591) completely. The cleaning and
disinfection effects cannot be achieved if the tubes and
connectors are not immersed completely.
Personal protective equipment

Water (Refer to Section 6.6, “Water”)
70% ethyl or isopropyl alcohol
(Refer to Section 6.7, “Alcohol”)
Detergent solution (Refer to Section 6.4,
“Detergent solution for manual cleaning”)
Basins for immersing the tubes
Clean lint-free cloths

*1 Gloves are recommended to be long enough so that your skin is not exposed.
*2 All cloths used in reprocessing are recommended to be lint-free.
