Chapter 7 Troubleshooting
HIGH FLOW INSUFFLATION UNIT UHI-4
Chapter 7 Troubleshooting
If the UHI-4 is visibly damaged, does not function as expected or is found to
have other irregularities during the inspection described in Chapter 4,
“Inspection”, do not use the UHI-4; contact Olympus.
Some problems that appear to be malfunctions may be correctable by referring
to Section 7.1, “Troubleshooting guide”. If the problem cannot be resolved by the
described remedial action, stop using the device and send it to Olympus for
repair.
Olympus does not repair accessory parts. If an accessory part becomes
damaged, contact Olympus to purchase a replacement.
Never use the high flow insufflation unit (UHI-4) if an
irregularity is observed. Damage or irregularity of the high
flow insufflation unit may compromise patient or user safety
and may result in more severe equipment damage.
7.1 Troubleshooting guide
High flow insufflation unit (UHI-4)
Problem Possible cause Solution
The system cannot be
turned ON or no indicators
light on front panel.
The power cord of the high flow insufflation
unit is not connected.
Connected the power cord of the high flow
insufflation unit.
The power cord is defective. Replace the power cord.
The power distribution panel of the
operating room is switched OFF.
Switch ON the power distribution panel.
The power cord of the power source such
as the workstation is not connected.
Connect the power cord of the power
source such as the workstation.
The wire in the power cord of the power
source such as the workstation is
disconnected.
Replace the power cord of the power
source such as the workstation with a new
one.
The power switch of the power source
such as the workstation is set to OFF.
Switch ON the power switch of the power
source such as the workstation.
The fuse is blown. Contact Olympus.
The circuit breaker of the power source
such as the workstation is tripped.
Reset the circuit breaker of the power
source such as the workstation.
