Chapter 4 Inspection
• Before each case, inspect this device as instructed below.
Inspect other equipment to be used with this device as
instructed in their respective instruction manuals. Should the
slightest irregularity be observed, do not use the device and
refer to Chapter 7, “Troubleshooting”.
If the irregularity is still observed after consulting Chapter 7,
contact Olympus.
Damage or irregularity may compromise patient or user
safety and may result in more severe equipment damage.
• This device was not disinfected or sterilized before shipment.
Before using this device for the first time, reprocess it
according to the instructions given in Chapter 6,
“Reprocessing, Storage, and Disposal”.
4.1 Inspection workflow
Figure 4.1 shows the procedures for inspection before use.
1. Inspect the high-pressure hose and the medical gas pipeline adapter.
• High-pressure hose
Refer to Section 4.2, “Inspection of the cylinder hose for (MAJ-1080/1081/1082/1985/1986)”
on page 67.
• Wall gas pipeline adapter
Refer to Section 4.3, “Inspection of the medical gas pipeline adapter (MAJ-1084/1085)” on
page 67.
2. Inspect the insufflation tube and the suction tube.

page 68.
