HIGH FLOW INSUFFLATION UNIT UHI-4
5.3 Selecting the cavity mode
• To prevent the cavity pressure from exceeding the set
pressure, do not insufflate in the Normal mode into a cavity
with a small capacity.
• Inappropriate selections of the cavity mode and/or flow rate
mode may result in gas embolism.
The cavity mode cannot be changed during insufflation. If
insufflation is started with a wrong cavity mode setting, first
press the insufflation switch to stop insufflation before
re-selecting the cavity mode.
If the cavity mode selection step is set to “Not selectable”,
you can jump to Section 5.4, “Setting the cavity pressure”
without selecting the cavity mode. For how to change the
setting of the cavity mode selection step, refer to Section
5.15, “User mode”.
Using the cavity mode selector switch, select the cavity mode according to the
capacity of the cavity for insufflating gas. The cavity mode can be selected from
“NORMAL” and “SMALL”.
The cavity mode can be selected from the following two
modes.
Cavity mode Note
NORMAL Mode for observation and treatment of the abdominal cavity.
SMALL
Mode for observation and treatment of the small cavity (Example:
colon (rectum) for TEM).
