Setting Up the System - 144
Set up and Encode Staff Keys
The next step is to set up and encode the staff keycards.
Refer to Staff Key Management beginning on page 43
for the procedure to do this.
Set up System Operators
Anyone who will be accessing the HT22 must have a
password to be able to log into the system. Before
entering the operators, you must decide which functions
they will be allowed to perform. Refer to the operator
levels table on page 68 to determine what level each
operator should be set to. When this is determined,
follow the procedure for entering the operators found in
Adding a New System Operator on page 70.
Control of Portable Programmer
The PP must be kept in a secure location. While the
programmer has built-in safeguards in case it gets into
the wrong hands, it is a tool that must be kept secure.
We recommend that the PP be either in a safe or other
locked location.
Control of Spare Card System
The Spare Card System also must be controlled. A
Program Card and a Spare Card together is a Master
Key to your guestrooms. Again, we recommend that
these be kept in a safe.
