6.3.1.2 UPC-A Add-On 2 Digits/5 Digits
UPC-A Add-On 2 Digits/5 Digits is a UPC-A barcode with an additional 2-digit or 5-digit barcode
to the right of the main barcode. When add-on digits are enabled, the add-on code must be
within the reading range for the barcode to be successfully read. If the add-on code is not within
the reading range, after an add-on waiting time the scan engine reads the barcode as UPC or
EAN.
Note: Reading response decreases when add-on digits are enabled and only UPC or EAN
barcodes are read.
