Zero Latency Shutter Release operation
The IQ Digital Back is equipped with two shutter latency mode settings;
Normal and Zero latency. With the IQ Digital Back set to Zero Latency, the
back will automatically sync with the mechanical shutter once you press the
shutter release. This mode saves you the extra step of having to “wake-up” the
sensor manually, which is required with the Normal latency mode, as the
sensor is always on.
It is important to note that the Zero Latency mode will keep the sensor awake
at all times and that the temperature, as a consequence, can raise over time
potentially degrading image quality. This is especially true if shooting in high
ambient temperatures. For this reason, you should either turn the IQ Digital
Back o when not shooting, or only enable Zero Latency before a capture,
then return the latency mode setting to “Normal”.
Connect a standard (one-shot) Sync Cable between the PC Sync Port
connector on the lens’ mechanical shutter and the multi-connector port on the
IQ Digital Back (part number 50300143).
You enable Zero Latency by selecting the IQ Menu > Camera > Shutter Latency
> Zero. Choose Shutter Latency > Normal to turn the mode o again.
