Please be informed that after setting new datas for the WiFi network the connection between
PIKO SmartBox
®
and PIKO SmartController
®
will be lost. Please return to the Android WiFi-menu of the
PIKO SmartController
®
and re-enter you new password again. You also can use the WPS-method to
reconnect.
5.4 Update and Reset of the PIKO SmartBox
®
5.4.1 Factory reset
If you press the Reset-button (6*) and then power on your PIKO SmartBox
®
, you have two options for
a reset:
• partial reset: the WiFi-password will be reset to the factory default “123456789”
• factory reset: all user settings will be restored to fthe actory defaults. All items stored in the system,
such as locos, switch panels, accessories, WiFi-settings, will be deleted.
When pressing the Reset-button during startup:
After booting, the reset-LED will light-up for ca. 1 second. If you release the button now the system will
do a partial reset and reboot afterwards.
If you keep the button pressed for another 7 seconds a factory reset will be performed. The LED will
light up for ca. 3 seconds. If you release the button now the system will reboot and start as usual.
5.4.2 Update
If you press the Rescue/Update-button (8*) while booting the PIKO SmartBox
®
it will start in “rescue
mode”. Only in this mode the LED will light-up permanently.
You can release the button now, the PIKO SmartBox
®
is ready to update.
To perform an update you need to insert a specially prepared USB-stick**. The PIKO SmartBox
®
should automatically identify the USB-stick and start looking for the update data.

**Due to technical limitations it is possible that the PIKO SmartBox

cannot identify the USB-stick. In
this case please try to use another USB-stick from a different manufacturer.
