You will quickly realize that Google’s Android operating system contains a lot of smart hidden
shortcuts and features.
As an example, you can easily access the settings menu via the status bar. Just open the status bar
and press the symbol with the three sliders. Android is using a set of icons with clearly dened meaning
which will repeat frequently and help you nd your way around. After only a little while you’ll nd
navigating the system to be very easy.
6.1 Downloading and installing apps from the Google
®
PlayStore
Once you nished the setup of your Google account as described above, a whole world of apps is
available for you on your device.
Please remember that the PIKO SmartControl
®
is not a full featured smartphone. Depending on
the specic requirements of the apps some apps might not not work on your device. Please
understand that due to the large number of available apps and the customized hardware of the
PIKO SmartControl
®
it is not possible to guarantee that all apps will work.
Please note:
The device has a xed amount of memory. High memory usage may cause functional problems, for
example the device may be very slow or apps may crash more often. If your device becomes extremely
slow or battery life is very short you should consider removing some apps from your device.
6.2 Changing the background picture
You can customize the background of your home screen. Doing so requires downloading a gallery app
rst. A gallery app is not included with the PIKO SmartControl
®
. PIKO does not recommend a specic
gallery app. There is a large number of galleries available you can choose from according to your
needs.
After you downloaded a “gallery”-app you can use pictures from the internal storage or download some
from the internet. You can add your own pictures with the help of a computer.
