Trouble Cause Remedy
Motor fails to operate. Shorted, grounded, or Remove and replace with
(continued) open armature. an armature known to be in
good condition.
Grounded or open field Test and then replace with
circuit. new part.
Motor operates at proper Faulty Bendix drive. Remove Bendix drive
speed but fails to crank. assembly. Clean and
check engine. Reinstall.
