DISTRIBUTION
1. Gascolator (Refer to Figure 1.)
The gascolator is located on the left forward face of the firewall.
A. Removal
CAUTION: VERIFY ALL ELECTRICAL LEADS ARE DISCONNECTED BEFORE COWL
REMOVAL.
(1) Check fuel shutoff is in the off position.
(2) Remove engine cowling by releasing cowling fasteners and attaching screws.
(3) Disconnect fuel lines from gascolator body.
(4) Cut safety wire, loosen bail nut, move bail wire to the side, and remove strainer bowl.
(5) Spread the ends of the bail wire to remove gascolator body from mounting bracket.
B. Installation
(1) Position the gascolator body to mounting bracket, ensuring the word “IN” (on top of the inlet
port) is positioned aft toward the firewall.
(2) Connect fuel lines.
NO
TE: Before connecting outlet line, ensure that the stainless steel sleeve on the outlet tube
assembly has been sprayed with MS122DF lubricant. Take care to ensure that no
lubricant is sprayed on the threads of the nut.
(3) Spread bail wire ends and insert through holes in the side of mounting bracket and gascolator
body.
(4) Position strainer bowl and bail wire. Hand-tighten bail nut, then tighten one flat with a wrench.
(5) Safety bail nut and bail wire assembly.
